Economic Evaluation of Energy-Saving Retrofit of Existing Hotels

With the improvement of China’s economic strength, energy consumption public buildings is continually increasing, notably for hotels. The consumptin a hotel accounts more than 15% its revenue, and average per floor area 10 times that urban residents. Therefore, energy-saving retrofit existing hotels imperative. This study investigates evaluation methods projects, constructs an model using cost-effectiveness ratio as base. measures 15 in Jiangsu Province, China, are used case to demonstrate research framework. results indicate heating, ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) system, monitoring lighting domestic hot water building envelope system five technical with highest application ratio. dynamic investment payback period Province 2.96 years, which meets requirement no years specified standard. different technologies differs significantly.
